Upcoming Tournaments from the CKA

Hello Everyone,

As we continue to take on the challenges that Covid-19 brings, I hope everyone is safe, healthy, and doing well overall!

Colorado Karate Association’s (CKA) September 5, 2020 tournament has been cancelled.

The Black Dragon Martial Arts Tournament, on August 1, 2020 will take place, but as a Virtual Marital Arts Tournament. More information regarding this tournament will be available soon.

This tournament on August 1, 2020, will be the first Virtual Martial Arts Tournament of 2020 and we anticipate it will not be the last. Plans are in the works for two or three more Virtual Tournaments for the remainder of 2020.

The shift to Virtual Tournaments is an effort to bring us together as Martial Artists, keep our motivation going regarding training and competing. Virtual tournaments will not include any sparring divisions.  However, look for additional forms divisions that we believe will be exciting and challenging.

For those of you who’ve received credit for the canceled CKA Opener tournament (March 14, 2020); you will be able to apply your credit to the upcoming CKA Virtual Tournament in September.  The exact date has not been determined.  Stay tuned for upcoming information.

Finally, let’s make the best of the cards we’ve been dealt.  Support your classmates, school, and/or club in every way possible.  We will get through this together and be better for it. That’s what we do as Martial Artists and true Americans.  You never know how strong you are…until being strong is the ONLY choice you have.

Thanks in advance for your continued support for Colorado Karate Association, as we continue to try to serve our members and the martial arts community the best that we can.

Take Care,

Jerry Davis
